Top 20 Green factory in Bangladesh

Top 20 Green factory in Bangladesh

With the United States Green Building Council’s and Leadership in Environmental and Energy in Design certification, Today Bangladesh has the most environmentally friendly garment manufacturers worldwide (USGBC).

The largest green factories in the world—171—are in Bangladesh’s readymade garment (RMG) industry.

The Bangladesh Garment factories and Exporters Association claims there were 144 green buildings a few months ago. Still, the total increased to 150 with the addition of the final one on October 7.

Out of the 150, 44 have platinum ratings, 93 have gold ratings, 9 have silver standards, and four have only been certified. The USGBC is waiting to approve 500 more apparel industry facilities as LEED facilities.

As local clothing suppliers have been improving workplace safety in response to recommendations from the Accord and Alliance. Two foreign building inspection and remediation agencies were established in the wake of the Rana Plaza building collapse in April 2013, which resulted in the deaths of approximately 1,138 garment workers.

Bangladesh now has 40 of the top 100 green garment factories and nine of the top ten. In this post, the top 20 LEED-certified green garment factories in Bangladesh will be covered.

The impact of green garment factories

For environmentally friendly garment factories, there are numerous standards. The green clothing market affects both the environment and business.

On the one hand, these factories don’t harm the environment. By creating a company culture, they also lower costs for long-term business in the garment sector.

Water and energy use can be significantly decreased thanks to these factories.

We must first understand what a “green factory” is. Green factory, meaning, according to BGMEA, is supposed to assist in reducing energy use by 40%, water consumption by more than 30%, and carbon dioxide emissions by more than 30%, further ensuring environmental safety.

A green, readymade garment sector produces enough clothing for the industry while reducing greenhouse gas emissions, conserving water, and safeguarding the environment.

Keep track of the amount of power, gas, and oil used daily and carbon dioxide released. Green factories can achieve these requirements without wasting resources or causing environmental harm.

Bangladesh’s RMG business is seeing a change thanks to a Leed-certified manufacturer there. Even while they may cost more to set up initially, these green factories help save operational expenses dramatically over time.

Let’s return to the main point; now we learn about Bangladesh’s top 20 Green factories. Let’s start!!
